Patient and public participation in commissioning is essential to the delivery of high-quality care. The CCG’s independent lay member of the Governing Body, Colin Seaton, acts as a patient champion and checks on the implementation of public engagement, with each Clinical Director being responsible for ensuring patient and public engagement informs their portfolio’s commissioning decisions.
Our joint Partnership Boards have representation from carers and service users, allowing direct participation in and challenge of any commissioning plans and decisions. This is particularly strong for Learning Disabilities and Mental Health.
