Hundreds of Buckinghamshire residents and stakeholders attended a series of public information events to find out from local GPs what is happening to health services in their neighbourhoods. Each of the seven sessions was held in a different area to outline and discuss developments in the health ‘locality’ in which it was held.
The sessions included presentations from healthcare professionals about what’s going on in the local area to meet people’s health needs, and how this fits into wider plans across Buckinghamshire. These plans also form part of the Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) which will cover the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and West Berkshire region.
This short NHS England video helps to explain what these local proposals for health and care aim to do.
If you would like to understand more about the STP plan, you can find a summary here and the full draft plan here. Please take a look at our list of Frequently Asked Questions and Buckinghamshire’s STP facts.

The Local Digital Roadmap for Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West
A Local Digital Roadmap (LDR) sets out the technology priorities for local councils and NHS organisations. Through better use of technology and working together, we can make sure that health and social care services are digitally enabled and fit for the future.
Please click here to view the LDR for Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West. It describes how, in the near future, local people will be able to read their own health record in the way they choose, enter or upload their own information as they see fit, and decide who else is able to access it. Clinicians and other caregivers will be able to access all relevant patient information when they need to, with the patient’s consent.
The Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West LDR presents a vision for digital transformation in health and care across our sustainability and transformation plan (STP). Some of the technologies referred to in the document may well be unfamiliar to some. Nevertheless, we trust that the document illustrates the breadth and depth of technology initiatives taking place across the region; all with the overarching objective of improving the quality and safety of care for our population.
